The Chairman, Ukanafun Local Government Area, Pastor Godwin Inyieng says since his assumption of office on 7th December 2020, his administration has graded some roads including the road leading to Ikot Akpan Ese village with steady power supply in the Local Government Area.
The Chairman, stated this during a media chat to herald activities for the 45th anniversary of the creation of Ukanafun, at the Council Hall, Ikot AkpaNkuk village.
The Chairman in his speech explained that God has made the people of the Local government proud, making exploit and standing out in the comity of local government areas.
Pastor Inyieng said Ukanafun which was created with other nine Local Government on June one, 1976 has given birth to Oruk Anam Local government Area, and produced about eighty seven villages and 64 Primary Schools.
He said that the people of Ukanafun Local Government Area willsoon roll out drums to celebrate the Local government area at 45 on 1st June 2021.
Pastor Inyieng mentioned some of the activities that will be carryout to mark the 45 anniversary of the local government to include the commissioning of the Ultra-Modern Council Hall, name after Obong Udoh Ekpenyong, town hall meeting, and a summit to recognize the founding fathers of Ukanafun Clan.
He commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for always finding Ukanafun people fits for political positions in the state and pledged to continually support the completion agenda of his administration.
He however encouraged the youths of Ukanafun to cooperate with him and be law abiding citizens by making sure that Ukanafun stands out in 21st century contributing, developing, building and making Akwa Ibom to be great.
On his part, the Chairman, Ukanafun Economic Development, King Idongesit Udom said Ukanfun people who have stood out in many capacity are all ready to celebrate their past, present and future of the local government.
Mr. Udom said new primary schools will be established with the help of Akwa Ibom State Government who is doing well to ensure that the primary school teachers are well taken of.
He lauded the Chairman of council, Pastor Godwin Inyieng for his commitment in putting things in order since his assumption of duty and making sure that the people in the local government are safe
