Parents have been urged to inculcate sound Christian values in their children
The wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel, the Founder of Family Empowerment and Youth Re-orientation Path Initiative, FEYReP stated this at General Hospital, Ikot Ekpene, where she welcomed the New Year baby.
The baby boy delivered at 12.04am to Ruth Abang, a petty trader from Ikono Local Government Area, weighed 2.6kg on delivery.
Dr. Emmanuel while cuddling the New Year baby prayed for God’s protection on him and expressed confidence that he would usher in glad tidings in his family and the state in general.
The First Lady also interacted with other nursing mothers in the maternity ward where she gave out special baby packs and cash to their babies.
As a compassionate mother, she paid medical bills.to some nursing mothers in the maternity ward who could not afford their bills

In appreciation, the mother of the New Year Baby, Ruth Abang on behalf of the other Nursing mothers thanked the Governor’s wife for her benevolence and prayed God to bless her and her husband.
Similarly, the Medical Officer on call, Dr. Aniekan Asuquo who spoke on behalf of the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, commended the Governor’s wife for the New Year visit and donations to the nursing mothers and asked God to reward her bountifully.
