New commander Nigerian Army 2 Brigade assumes duties in Akwa Ibom

A new Nigerian Army service commander, Brigadier General Mohammed Nura Inuwa has assumed duties as commander, Two Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Brigadier General Inuwa was received by the state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel during a courtesy visit to government house, Friday.

Governor Emmanuel while welcoming the new commander, Two Brigade, on behalf of the government and people of Akwa Ibom, expressed optimism of renewed collaboration with the Nigerian Army in combating new waves of crime.

He expressed confidence that the new Army Commander would bring his experience and understanding of the current conflict spectrum as well as his knowledge of the state’s peculiar land and coastal terrain to bear in battling security challenges facing the state.

The Governor lauded the strides made by the Nigerian Army in battling insecurity across the nation in general and Akwa Ibom in particular and however called for more concerted efforts, especially in areas of intelligence, while assuring of the support of his government to the army in their efforts to stamp out insecurity in the state.

Brigadier General Inuwa said his visit to Government House was to officially present himself as the incoming Commander Two Brigade, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, and assured of his commitment to deliver on the primary objective  which he said include ensuring peace, and security of lived and property in the state.

He informed the governor that since his assumption of duties on April 23, 2021, he has established collaborations with other security commanders assuring that together, they would come up with an effective strategy of fighting criminality in the state.
