To those who may have doubted the reality of Ibom Deep Seaport are in for a pleasant surprise.
This is so because the Bureau of Public procurement has been given a certificate of no objection for the project.
The commissioner ministry of Economic development and Ibom Deep seaport, Mr. Akan Okon gave the cherry news during the progress report of his ministry’s budget defense.
He said that the construction of the seaport would commence as soon as the federal executive council gives its nod.
Mr. Okon said that all the procedure have been painstakingly adopted for the success of the project which according to him would be a plus to the federal government the state and the Maritime industry.
Mr. Okon gave a projection of seven point five four nine billion naira for the 2021 budget.
Similarly the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affair,. Mr. Frank Archibong sought an augmentation of one hundred and five million naira for the furnishings of the latest Traditional Rulers Council Chambers and provision of Media Equipment.
Life Enhancement Agency has as its fiscal estimate of three hundred and six million naira covering capital and Recurrent expenditure of the amount Skills development centers, poverty alleviation progamm and other sundry programme are to be embarked on and sought release of funds to enable the Agency to discharge its functions.
The Director of the Agency Mrs.Maria Nkereuwem Ekanem said that the agency also provide Agro inputs for Agricultural Entrepreneurs.
