Ibom Air plans to extend its route to The Gambia as it gets set to fly the West African Region this year.
Governor Udom Emmanuel dropped the hint when he played host to The Gambia High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mohamadou Musa Njie at Government House Uyo.
The governor commended the Gambian High Commissioner and the President of Gambia for indicating interest in Akwa Ibom State in the areas of aviation, commerce and industry, hinting that with two additional aircrafts expected in the fleet of Ibom Air by June this year, the airline will commence Regional flight to Gambia.

Governor Emmanuel acknowledged the tourism potentials in The Gambia, noting that such synergy would open economic avenues for the two governments.
The Gambia High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency Mohammadou Musa Njie in his remarks said the visit was at the instance of the Gambian president, Adama Barrow who is requesting an audience with Governor Emmanuel with a view to exploring other mutually beneficial grounds between The Republic of Gambia and Akwa Ibom state.
