Governor Emmanuel has sealed a deal of $1.4 billion for the establishment of a Fertilizer and Ammonia plant in the state, a development which he noted would require the services of thousands of skilled Akwa Ibom youths.
Governor Udom Emmanuel stated this while speaking with government house reporters at the Victor Attah International Airport, on return from a trip outside the state.
He said that state government would focus more on human capacity training ahead of the various investments and development projects coming to the state.

The Governor said already, plans were on for 7,000 Akwa Ibom youths to be trained in semi-skilled labour to handle various industrial operations at the proposed 1.4 Billion dollar Fertilizer and Ammonia plant.
He explained that when full operations commence at the Fertilizer and Ammonia Plant, the 7,000 semi-skilled labour would provide the needed skills, and appealed to youths to gear up and embrace the opportunity.
