Governor Emmanuel approves release of 2020 Promotion for civil Servants

The State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, has approved the release of the 2020 Promotion for civil Servants, with arrears.

The Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien, made this known at the Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio Auditorium, venue of the Pre-Examination Seminar organized by the Civil Service Commission, to prepare candidates due to promotion this year.

According to the Head of Civil service, the policy of retraining and re-assessing workers through Pre-promotion seminars and Examinations in line with the Public Service Reforms has yielded tremendous results, by enthroning competitiveness, equality, justice, and fair play for all within the service.

Elder Essien described as counterproductive the previous policy where workers got promoted after spending the mandatory three or four years on a post.

He explained that the process gave rise to a decline in personnel output as officers spared no time for self-development to meet service demands, through the reading of public service rules extent circulars, and other Service Documents.
