Dr. Martha Emmanuel, Wife of the Akwa Ibom State Governor has inaugurated and handed-over a-two bedroom bungalow to a widow, Madam Rose Ukeme of Ikpe Ikot Nkon in Ini Local Government Area.
The edifice was a “Shelter of Hope”, project of the Family Empowerment and Youth, Re-orientation Path Initiative, FEYReP, which is the Pet Project of the Governor’s wife.
Inaugurating the building, the wife of the State Governor, Dr. Martha Emmanuel reiterated that her primary responsibility is to serve the people of the state by providing life-touching projects as well as put smiles on the faces of those in need.
Dr. Emmanuel said FEYReP has also kick-started a cooperative society where interest free loans are disbursed to women to support their businesses and family, encouraging the women of Ini to make do with the opportunity in order to better their lives.
The coordinator of FEYReP, Mrs. ImeInyang said the building was the 57th shelter of hope structure built by Akwa Ibom First Lady for the homeless.
The Commissioner for Agriculture Dr. Glory Edet who also partnerdFEYReP to built the bungalow thanked the Governor for the many life touching projects in the state and promised to always support the present administration to deliver the completion agenda.
Goodwill messages were received from Ini LG PDP Chapter Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Umoh, village head IkpeIkotNkon, Chief NduesoBassey, member representing Ini in AKS HOA Mr. Emmanuel Ekpenyong and Comrade IniEmemobong who spoke on behalf of the college of Commissioners.
Some women of the area were gifted wrappers and cash while the beneficiary of the Shelter of Hope Madam Rose Ukeme thanked the Governor’s wife for her magnanimity.
