Dr Martha Emmanuel advises Christians to serve God diligently

Christians have been advised to serve God diligently with all their might as God rewards those that worship him in spirit and in truth.

The wife of the state Governor, Dr. Martha Emmanuel, gave the advice today in Uyo, during the ordination of new Elders and Deaconesses at The Apostolic Lutheran Church, 52 Ufeh Street.

Dr. Emmanuel described service to God as the greatest anyone can give in his vineyard, saying the blessings that follow thereof are immeasurable.

The first lady encouraged the newly ordained ministers to be of good behavioural pattern by exemplifying the character of Christ, starting they have all been called into exalted offices.

The governor’s wife while urging the newly consecrated workers to cast their burdens unto God who has called them to service, also charged them to avail themselves of his grace in their journey of faith.

She thanked the church for their spiritual intercession for the state and prayed God’s continued blessings upon the congregation.

Earlier in a sermon, the resident pastor, Pastor Aniedi Ekpo who preached on the theme: A Man that fits God’s Work, noted that God is ever ready to work with those who are available in his presence.

Taking his scriptural reference from 1st Peter 5 vs. 2, Pastor Ekpo said as ministers of the gospel, the ordained are to feed the flock, God has commissioned them for.

He encouraged them to be focused, determined and committed in their assignments and they will be rewarded accordingly.

Responding on behalf of those newly ordained, Elder Aniefiok Akpan and Deaconess Inemesit Udofia Allen thanked the church council for finding them fit to serve, and prayed that God will see them through.
