Akwa Ibom State International Worship Centre, one of the signature projects of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration is to be inaugurated next year.
Governor Udom Emmanuel who gave the assurance said upon completion, the worship center would be the best of its kind and befitting of a state named after God.
He was speaking while inspecting the level of work done at the project site on banking layout, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo shortly after he returned from an official engagement outside the state.
The Governor expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of work done so far by the construction company, Julius Berger, saying on completion, the centre will serve as a worship altar to generations of Akwa Ibom people whom he noted were predominantly Christians.
Elaborating on the significance of the Worship Centre, the state’s chief executive said the centre would be a place of communion between God and His people, through which heaven would release greater blessings upon the state.

Governor Emmanuel specifically thanked Akwa Ibom people and corporate organizations who have contributed to push the project to the level it was, noting that the gesture portrayed their deep understanding of the place of God in the affairs of men.
The Julius Berger South-Eastern Regional Manager, Mr Juergen Fischer who conducted Governor Udom Emmanuel round the project site, said the engineering design of the project was challenging but assured of timely completion and to specification.
According to Mr Fischer, the concrete aspect of the project was almost concluded and roofing would be next, once the roof was shipped in from Europe.
Joining Governor Emmanuel on the inspection was the commissioner for Lands and Housing, Pastor Umo Eno whose ministry is supervising the project, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Ephraim Inyangeyen and some members of the state executive council.
