Ministry of Works and Fire Service has been directed to update and reposition their firefighting equipment as a matter of urgent necessity, for effective fire fighting.
The State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel gave the directives today during the state executive council meeting which he presided over at government house Uyo.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Emem-Obong, made this known to government house correspondents while giving a brief on the outcome of the state executive council meeting,
According to Comrade Emem-Obong, the directive came after the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof Eno Ibanga updated the council on the fire fighting capacity of the state fire service and also presented a report on roads that were ready for inauguration in the state.
As a result, Comrade Emem-Obong said the governor has tasked the ministry with the need to send her personnel on training on relevant firefighting skills.

On ministerial reports from the Commissioner for Health, Comrade Emem-Obong disclosed that all schools of nursing and midwifery which had lost accreditation have now regained full accreditation and are now ready to train interested persons in the field.
Meanwhile, the six new council members who were recently sworn into office have been welcomed to the state executive council and charged to start off with vigour in order to deliver on their assigned mandate.
The Information Commissioner said the same charge was directed to all other Commissioners in Government ministries in the bid to meet set targets in the completion agenda of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s Administration.
